The SRM Institute of Management Studies was founded in
the year 1993-94 with the objective of training young
men and women who would effectively take up
responsibility as management leaders senior
administrators and executives in industry, corporations,
banking, communication services, government and many
other spheres of the economy. From several hundred
applicants the institute admits, after a careful process
of selection, the most suitable candidates. A student
undergoes a through systematic programme of theoretical
as well as practical course work which gives him/her the
confidence to take up senior managerial positions.
Graduates of the SRM Institute of Management Studies
have been appointed in important positions not only in
Chennai and Tamilnadu but all over India and abroad.
Eligibility
for admission
1.
Candidates must possess a Bachelors Degree of the
University of Madras or equivalent qualification, with a
minimum of 50% in main subjects.
2. Sponsorship by an industrial or commercial house is
preferable. For part-time candidates this is compulsory,
together with work experience of not less than two years
after graduation in a supervisory or executive capacity.

Visiting faculty
In addition to the permanent faculty, distinguished
visiting faculty are invited from the industry and
corporate bodies, government and statutory bodies.
Renowned professors and scientists from national and
international universities also participate under this
programme.

Admission Procedure
An entrance examination for eligible candidates is held
at various centres, subject to a minimum number of
candidates opting to appear at a particular centre.
Candidates are short-listed and selected on the basis of
Group Discussion, Viva-voce and interviews at the
Corporate Office, Chennai.
