INFORMATION
SESSIONS
During the entire month when admissions are on,
information sessions are organised Monday through
Saturday. The purpose is to disseminate information to
students and parents on admission procedures.Details
of application, various admission criteria, written
tests and so on are discussed
with students in order to clarify their doubts, if
any. An admission counsellor who sits in informal
sessions not only counsels students on admission
procedures, but also guides them on various courses
that they may undertake in accordance with their
qualifications, merit and aptitute. This process helps
the students, and their parents to make a decision
about the career of their choice.
EXPENSES
Details of exact fees payable would be intimated at
the time of admission. Apart from these general fees,
such fees as stipulated from time to time towards
specific expenses would be informed. Any amount paid
cannot be refunded under any circumstances. At the
time of admission, it might be required by the student
to furnish a legally binding commitment in writing to
the above effect. Transfer Certificate and other
certificates can be issued to a student only after
he/she has fulfilled and satisfied completely the
terms and conditions as laid down herein and from time
to time.
FINANCIAL
ASSISTANCE
Students in need of financial assistance should apply
to the Financial Service Division before the
prescribed date giving full information about their
scholastic achievements as well as financial status.
SRM is in the process of creating endowments /
fellowships /scholarships in partnership with the
industry and educational foundations. Every effort is
made to assist students in overcoming any financial
constraint that they may be facing.
ATTENDANCE
The University of Madras stipulates a minimum of 75%
attendance and the Dr. MGR Medical University
stipulates 80% attendance for students to be able to
appear for examination. However, it is recommended in
the ultimate interest of the students, that they be
present and punctual for all the classroom lectures,
laboratory practicals, field work and so on.
WORKING
SCHEDULE
All the institutions at SRM follow the academic terms,
working days and so on as prescribed by the respective
universities. Individual institutions have their own
timings. However most of the institutions operate from
9.00 am to 4.00 pm. Monday through Friday. Students in
different institutions may be required to attend
classes and other activities before and beyond the
scheduled timings as indicated above. SRM takes pride
in the self-enforced sense of punctuality of its
students who normally settle in the seats atleast five
minutes ahead of commencement of classes.
CONTINUOUS PROGRESS
The progress of each student at SRM is monitored
closely and continuously. One faculty member is
assigned to act as a Student Counseller for every
eight students. Various performance parameters are
chalked out and the Student Counsellor follows the
progress on each parameter in close consultation with
the student. The purpose of this exercise is to
channelise the students energies with a sense of
purpose and direction and to ensure on a continuous
basis that deviations from the set targets are
avoided. On the basis of this monitoring, a Monthly
Status Report (MSR) is made out and mailed to the
parents / guardians, who together with the concerned
student, are jointly responsible to take up the
contents of the MSR with the Student Counsellor. In
the event the deficiencies pointed out carry over 3
MSRs without due rectification, the student runs the
risk of suspension/discontinuance.

Students are particularly informed that the
information given in this Prospectus is purely
indicative, and all concerned may seek final
confirmation regarding any issue from the respective
institutions or the Corporate Office. Management
reserves the right to change, alter, amend or rescind
any matter given herein at any point of time as it may
deem necessary without notice or assigning any reason
whatsoever. All disputes are subject to the
jurisdiction of the courts at Chennai only.
