The Department of physics has dedicated and well qualified faculty members. The faculty members have been attending international and national conferences and papers are presented in the conferences. Research papers have been published in reputed international and national journals.

The department has well equipped laboratories with modern instruments and hi-tech facilities. The advanced laboratory facilities include :

Physics lab

• Preparation and characterization of nano-ceramics

• Low temperature solution growth technique for growing organic and inorganic crystals

• Compressibility /susceptibility measurements for solids / liquids

• Electronic parameters measurements for semiconductors.

• Propagation parameters measurements for optical fibers

• Holography

Besides offering courses for undergraduate programme, the department is offering a post graduate programme.
