Placement & Training

A senior professor has been nominated as the Head of the Placement and Training Cell which helps students to do their career planning. Mock interviews and group discussions are organized to familiarize students with standard selection procedures. Campus interviews are arranged every year in association with large industrial and commercial firms and corporate bodies. As a result, students of this university are getting benefited every year with progressively remunerative and rewarding placements in reputed organizations.


Medical Facilities

Students of this university have access to medical facilities at various places, apart from a 24 hour dispensary which has been set up with a doctor on call. The SRM Hospitals in the University campuses at Kattankulathur and Ramapuram provide facilities for several diagnostic procedures such as ECG, X-Ray and laboratory investigations. Health insurance cover for all the students is one of the additional services under active consideration.

It is in the interest of the applicants that they carefully read all the instructions given in the application form and adhere to the same strictly without any discrepancy or omission. Every application should be submitted with necessary documents. Incomplete application and failure to append the stipulated documents may lead to delays and in some circumstances, to possible rejection. 

Relevant Rules & Regulations in respect of admission :

It is essential to fill in the application with correct details. In the event of furnishing incorrect information:

  • He/She will forfeit the admission irrespective of what stage of the course he / she is in at that point of time when it is detected.
  • He / She will be debarred from pursuing any course of study.
  • Legal action will be instituted against him / her for furnishing wrong information.

Eligibility for Admission

The eligibility requirements for the different programmes offered, are given in the respective pages, pertaining to the departments concerned.

Certificates

All Students :

In support of their application, all students must submit photocopies of :

  • Mark sheet of qualifying examination or equivalent

  • Transfer certificate from the institute last studied

  • Conduct certificate

  • Community certificate

  • Three passport-size photographs

  • Joint declaration by candidate and parent / guardian in the specified format

  • Any other documents required by the University.

Foreign Students :

In addition to the above certificates the FOREIGN STUDENTS must also submit

  • No objection certificate from the Ministry of HRD, Government of India, New Delhi

  • Eligibility certificate from the University

  • Appropriate Students Visa.

Admission Counselling Desk

During the month of admission, an admission counselling desks will operate from Monday through Saturday in Head Office, Mambalam, in the Directorate of Virtual Education, Ramapurm & in the Office of the Registrar, Kattankulathur. The purpose of this arrangement is to disseminate information to the students and parents on admission procedures and on the choice of branch of study.

Details of application, the admission criteria, entrance examination, etc will be discussed with students in order to clarify their doubts, if any. An admission council will counsel students not only on admission procedures, but also on the choice of their course of study that would suit them in accordance to their qualifications, merit and aptitude.

This process would help the students and their parents to make appropriate decisions on the career of the students.

Expenses

Details of tuition and other fees payable at the time of admission and during the later semesters could be obtained from the Admission Officer.

The fees paid on admission will not be refunded under any circumstances. Transfer Certificate and other certificates will be issued to a student only after he / she fulfills and satisfies completely the terms and conditions of the University.

Financial Assistance

Students in need of financial assistance should apply to the Financial Service Division before the prescribed date giving full information about their scholastic achievements as well as financial status.

The university is in the process of creating endowments / Fellowships / Scholarships in partnership with the industry and educational foundations. Every effort is made to assist students in overcoming any financial constraint that they may be facing.
