The Master of Computer Applications Program was introduced in the year 1994 with the strength of 60 under the affiliation of Madras University. In the year 2002, the Department was affiliated to the Anna University. From 2003 onwards, it is coming under SRMIST (Deemed University). The program of M.Sc (CS&T) was started in the year of 2001 and M.Sc (IT) was started in the year 2003. Now the total Strength of the Students is 380.

The Department is running with 28 well experienced, highly qualified and dedicated teaching faculties making the faculty – student ratio as 1:12 and 9 intellectual programmers.

Achievments

Every year the faculties are attending many national & international seminars, conferences and workshops in different organisations.

The Students are participating in many competitions and won a lot of prizes. The Department has been arranging conferences and seminars in which both Industrialists and Academicians from reputed firms and Institutions participate as resource persons.

Placement

Most of the students are well placed in Reputed IT Companies through campus interview. Remaining Students have started their own Business.

Association Activities

Through the association of Computer Applications the department conducts various Technical Seminars and Personality Development programs.
