The program offered by the department prepares students for career in the biotechnology industrially. It provides a broad function in the basic sciences which underpin biotechnology as well as advanced training in the emerging technologies including bio informatics, so that new graduates are well placed to participate in biotechnology research and development in an industry.

B.Tech. Biotechnology degree programme was started during 2002 - 03. It is proposed to offer
M.Tech. (Bio-Tech)
Post graduate programme during 2004 - 2005.

• Teaching staff are from various disciplines of biotechnology with research experience.

• It has excellent laboratory facilities for higher education and research activities.
